Creating and editing solid colors

A Flash movie can have more colors than appear in the color palette of the stroke and fill color modifier. The number of colors in a movie is limited only by your system's color depth setting (256, thousands, or millions of colors).

To create or edit solid colors:

1 Click the Colors window button at the top of the fill or stroke color palette, or choose Window > Colors.

2 Click the Solid tab to display the panel for changing solid colors.
3 Select the color in the palette you want to change.
4 Change the color in the following ways:
To set the hue, tint, and brightness, drag the crosshair in the color space to define the hue and move the slider to the right of the hue bar to set the tint and brightness.
To define the degree of transparency for the color, use the slider or enter a percentage in the Alpha box, from 0 for complete transparency, to 99 for some transparency (100 is opaque). Solid colors with transparency appear with a grid showing through the color.
To define a color by the value of its red, green, and blue components, enter values in the appropriate text boxes.
To define a color by its hex value, select the Hex option, and enter the hex value in the RGB text boxes.
5 When you have finished changing color settings, do one of the following:
To replace the currently selected color with a newly defined color, click Change.
To add a newly defined color to the end of the color table, click New.
To delete the currently selected color cell from the color table, click Delete.
To prepare the movie for use in a browser, turn on Solid Colors to match the selected color in the color space to the closest color from the palette of 216 web-safe colors.
